Day 4

Hello! We've been in Cape Town for 4 days now and there are so many experiences to tell about! Today we visited Crist the King Revival Church in downtown Cape Town--quite an experience! The service was bilingual--the pastor spoke english but a translator was there for the mostly Congolese, french-speaking congregation. The pastor spoke feircly and passionately. And the music was wonderful, a great african rythm.
In a few hour we'll head off to see Robben Island where Nelson Mandela spent most of his 27 years.

HAve to go, the computer is talking to tme and telling me my time is up! I'll write again soon hopefully!

From your sis!

Morgan, what an adventure you are having! It sounds so wonderful and exciting. I can't believe all that you have seen in so little time. What was the experience at Robben Island like? I have heard that walking through the cells and halls of that prison can be emotionally difficult. I can't wait to hear more and to see your beautiful photos.

Sidenote, we have finally warmed up around here. I'm glad to see the sun and to no longer have to wear gloves, although the three day break from school was awesome! Love you!

Sunday

I was sitting at my office computer at the church doing some last minute Sunday morning things and decided before I shut it down to check the blogs - just in case there was something new! And THERE IS! Would loved to have been at that service with you. I have long loved the African church music - the rhythmns, the harmonies and the meolodies and the incredible passion it reveals. We are still in the cold - 22.8F when we left home this morning. Plan to spend at least part of the afternoon watching the Seahawks play offs and then attend the Martin Luther King, Jr. observance Jazz Worship tonight with the Youth.
Miss you!
