gondola and beach day!
Sunday we went on a trip to up the Gondola. It was in a city called Lyttelton, way up in the hills. The view was amazing of the city of Christchurch and the coast, which was huge! On the way up, there was random groups of sheep along the huge hillsides. To Kelly Stephens the trip up the Gondala was, "scary!" After getting to the top, we went around to take pictures and some people, such as Eric Phaff and I went on a hike. The hike was all down hill, really giving us a feel on the real New Zealand. The hike back up was intense, but fun. We were extremely sweaty and ready for the beach! Eric, Kim, and Kaitlyn went to Sumner beach. It started raining just a bit and everyone left the beach. Us? We just got into the water (we're from Washington!) Playing in the waves was fun, yet a little scary when huge waves took you under. My flip flop tan is turning out awesome!! One thing Maggie learned here was the word 'nicket' which means steal. She wanted gum, but stores have it behind the counter here because people nicket! That's a pretty cool. I love the culture shock here, it's not harsh, but enough to go, 'cool!' We are on a 8 hour train ride tommorrow to Wellington, not even half way through the trip, I love it all!
Cheers Mates! Kimber
