Financial Need-Based Funding for PLU Study Away
The Global Scholar Award helps students with documented financial need make study away possible.
For PLU Semester study away programs, students may receive up to $2,500 to be used for airfare, passport fees, immunizations, and in-country daily expenses.
For PLU Faculty-Led Short-Term programs, students may receive a 20% reduction of the published program fee.

PLU Gateway Featured Programs
PLU offers an array of Featured semester study away programs across the globe. Administered by partner institutions, these programs align with our mission and typically have a long history of PLU student participation or historical ties to PLU.
PLU Faculty-Led Short-Term Programs
Multiple PLU study away programs are offered in J-Term, spring break and summer.
 
Eligibility
Participate in a PLU study away program
  • Complete a FAFSA
  • Demonstrate financial need 
    • Contact your Student Financial Services Specialist if you are unsure if you qualify
Complete application by the time of your study away application deadline.

Recipients of the following are not eligible:
    • VA Benefits 
    • Act Six
    • Tuition exchange/remission/ELCA full-tuition benefits from PLU
    • Brue Travel Award
